---As it stands right now, only five with the potential to have one or two more through prior admin approval if you prove you can keep all your characters active.
Q. Do you allow non-faceclaimed characters?
---Yes. Creatures can or cannot have a faceclaim depending on the roleplayer, and even human characters don't need one. However, you must have a detailed written out description of your character.
Q. How many abilities can my character have?
---As it stands now, every character can start out with three (3) abilities. You're able to upgrade these through the point shop.
Q. The creature I bound myself too isn't powerful. Isn't that unfair compared to those who have stronger creatures?
---No, not really. Think about it this way. Everyone starts out at the same basic level. Not a lot of power. Regardless of the creature, you can gain more abilities and upgrade old ones.
Say, for instance, you have a squirrel and a lion. The lion starts out with increased physical strength and cat-like grace. The squirrel has longer jump distances and nimble-ness. The lion keeps upping it's physical strength. The squirrel keeps upping its nimble-ness. What good will strength do if it can't hit the squirrel? Think outside of the box, guys~
Rai is more than willing to help people with ability suggestions and ideas.
Q. My character is a human. Isn't that unfair point shop-wise?
---Humans have just enough capabilities as every other character. Sure, they may not be as powerful, but they have the ability to create a contract or join Heaven's Gate later through the point shop and are able to get some things that bound, possessed, or creature characters are unable to.
Q. Why a word count?
---A word count makes sure that our roleplayers are getting the best out of the experience. There's nothing like typing out a 600 word post only to get a 150 word reply. Besides, for roleplayers who aren't used to it, it helps them push themselves and develop more.
Q. Can I have ____ as a creature?
---It honestly depends. You can ask, but we absolutely will not allow gods or highly powerful creatures. This means no Zeus, Kyuubi, Thor, Odin, or the such. However, things like kitsunes, werewolves, cu siths, fey, and the such are allowed.
Q. Why is my profile not accepted yet?
---Chances are the staff simply haven't had a chance to or don't notice that the profile is finished. If, after three days, your profile isn't looked over, kindly and politely pm a staffie about it. We try to get to them as soon as we notice that they're done.
Q. Can I roleplay in the Icbox before my character is accepted?
---Sadly, no. The ICbox is for accepted characters only. Feel free to use general boards, though.
Q. Isn't this just a rip off of ___?
---Nope. Despite what series or other rp site you may think Accidental Brilliance is based off of, it's an original mind baby of Rai one day while talking with Akira.
Q. What sort of creatures are allowed?
---Whatever your little mind can think of. This isn't a strictly 'demon' or 'yokai' roleplay, and you can use creatures from whatever myths or stories or whatever you want. Celtic myths, Greek, Japanese, Norse, whatever. Just keep in mind that gods and highly powerful creatures aren't allowed.
Q. I'm confused about possessed humans. What do you mean when you talk about alternate appearances when using powers?
---Normal human bodies aren't capable of handling the creature powers. In order to be able to handle it without seriously injuring themselves they need to adjust accordingly, and considering they're using the powers of specific creatures, they take the creature's appearance and traits to do that, since the creature is able to withstand those powers, becoming a sort of hybrid in appearance. If the rper wishes, they can also take the true form of the creature.
When not using abilities, possessed humans can have traits that relate to their creature, such as increased jumping ability, increased strength, increased speed, and the such, however they're weak compared to what they could be. The traits are more powerful when having that creature look and when borrowing the creature's traits than when in a normal human form, as, again, human bodies can't handle the full strength of it all.
More prominent traits (such as jumping, strength, and speed) count towards the ability count.
Q. Where does AB take place?
---A modern day city called South Isle.
