HUMANS
Normal humans without a contract to a creature. They can be whatever or do whatever as long as it's within reason. They don't have any special powers or abilities like creatures have. Some may be able to see creatures because of their bloodline. Others may possess an item that has been around creatures a lot and has thus absorbed some of it's power, allowing the holder to see creatures. They are free to make any sort of contract with a creature if they want to.
POSSESSED
Possessed is a term to both describe a human and a creature that has formed a contract that allows the human to use part of the creature's abilities. All possessed humans are able to see creatures. There are two different possession contracts.
Fully Possessed
Being fully possessed means that the creature has entered the human's body, allowing them to be able to use a wide range of the creature's abilities.
--The creature exists as a incorporeal form inside of the human. The two can communicate via mental thought.
--The creature can, in moments of weakness on the human's part or if given permission, take over the human's body.
--Fully Possessed characters are allowed three (3) abilities to start out with. They must relate to the creature and the creature's natural abilities.
--Every possessed human has a "mark" that shows they have formed a contract. This can be a natural tattoo that appears on the body after the contract is formed, or something else such as a scar, claw mark, or whatever as long as it is physically on the human's body.
--Some fully possessed humans can have a second physical trait of the creature beyond the mark. It can be ears, claws, a tail, eyes, a patch of scales or feathers, anything your little heart can think of.
--This can occur both OOCly during character creation or through actual rp between two characters.Partially Possessed
Being partially possessed means that the creature only gives part of their power to the human, remaining in a physical form outside of the human's body.
--The human only gains part of the creature's power and abilities. As well, the creature loses the portion of power it gives to the human. If it gives half of it's power to the human, the creature's power is half of what it once was. If a third is given, the creature's power is two-thirds what it once was.
--The creature and the human can communicate via mental thought with one another.
--They can live separately or together depending on what the creature and human want. The two can choose to fight together, as well, if attacked.
--Both human and creature have a mark of some sort. This can be a natural "tattoo" that appears after the contract is made, or a mark of some sort like a scar, claw mark, patch of scale, fur, or skin.
--Partially possessed humans and creatures are allowed three (3) abilities each upon character creation or the creation of a contract. They need to relate to the creature and it's natural abilities.
--This can occur OOCly through character creation or through IC means in roleplay.BOUND
Bound is when a human and creature choose to make a contract of familiarity. The creature doesn't give any of it's power to the human and still lives separately, however the two are bound to help one another if the other needs it.
--The creature can choose to live with the human or in it's usual habitat to be summoned when needed.
--Summoning can be done through a predetermined verse, sound, or an item relating to the creature/human. What this does is gives the summoned one a feeling of nagging and needing to see the other. This can be ignored, but the feeling gets worse as more time drags on.
--One always knows how to get to the other, even if they don't know the exact location of where they are. Like how birds know where to migrate.
--They can communicate with one another via mental thoughts.
--Both bear a mark of some sort, which can be a natural "tattoo" that appears after the contract is made, or a mark of some sort such as a claw mark, scar, bite mark, patch of scales, feathers, or skin.FULL CREATURE
Full creatures are just that: the creatures of the site. They can be from any mythology and live how they want to. They have a natural ability to be invisible to the human eye, except for those few humans with the ability to see the creatures. They can choose when to use this ability, and thus when they want humans to see them or not.
--Creatures can be harmed by modern day weapons such as guns, tasers, arrows, and the such.
--Most creatures have a weakness that effects them more than the normal weapon.
--The natural ability makes them invisible, not incorporeal. Creatures still run into physical objects and can still be harmed when not visible to humans.
--Any creature is free and able to create any sort of contract with a human.
--Creatures can be from any mythology so long as they are not a god or highly powerful creature.HEAVEN'S GATE
Heaven's Gate is an organization of pure humans out for the separation of creatures and humans, and even the destruction of the creatures to some. They don't often tolerate any contracted humans and either view them as siding with the creatures or as unfortunate victims. Why they dislike creatures can be anything from simple discrimination and fear thanks to the 'evil' stories that follow the creatures, or a personal issue with them such as death of a friend or family member.
There's no real organization to the group besides there being an almost secretive head group of four people. Anything else is free game.
--HG members can "specialize" in the hunting and killing of specific creatures. Their knowledge on those creatures is better than on others, and they often have specific weapons or enhancements to better deal with those creatures. Such as a HG member focusing on fae having an iron enhanced weapon, and a HG member dealing in lycanthropes having weapons enhanced with silver.
--Some HG members can under-go experimental conditioning (behavior and physical modification) to better their ability to fight the creatures. What effects this has on a person depends on the rper. It can be anything from lower pain tolerance, increase their strength, change their personalities, whatever. Seeing this in an active HG member is rare, and as such prior admin approval is needed to create a conditioned character at the present moment.
--Weapons can be enhanced with special traits to fight creatures through character creation or the point shop.
--All HG members are equipped with an item of some sort (up to the rper what form it takes) that weakens the power of a creature and contracted human when within range. The usual range is a twenty foot radius or so.
--All HG members are also equipped with an item that allows them to see creatures. Again, the object this is is up to the roleplayer.
