" Human (Heaven's Gate) Appearance Faceclaim:: n/a Height:: 6'3 Weight:: 215 lbs Special Features:: n/a Full Appearance:: Raziel is fair of skin and blond of hair, with dark eyebrows that stick out like a sore thumb. He is tall, built solidly, and looks older than he really is (a fact he hates more than anyone could ever know). But that's not his fault, it's his genetics---or so he tells everyone. For all intents and purposes, Raziel is a brick wall of a human, reaching six foot three in height and having the build of a wrestler. His jaw is large and square, with his nose sitting crookedly on his face, having never set properly after it was broken in combat. His hair, for the most part, is an unruly short mess he doesn't let grow past his ears. It's less of a liability in combat that way, he figures, than if he were to have it longer. Why, someone could just grab it, yank him to his death. Much like a cape for a superhero, in his opinion. To compensate for his poor eyesight, Raziel wears black, rectangular glasses. He is too much of a wimp for contacts, though if anyone were to ask he'd lie and say they just bugged his eyes. Heterochromia runs in his family, and he himself happens to have it---his left eye is an emerald green with his right eye being a chestnut brown. As for clothing, Raziel keeps it fairly casual unless he has to dress up. For him, it's the run of the mill jeans and t-shirt combo, with the occasional sweatshirt on the off chance he gets chilly. But Raziel is the type of guy you'll find wearing shorts even in the dead of winter, constantly complaining about how "damn hot it is and who turned off the fan?" When he does clean up, Raziel opts for the blazer and dress slacks combination. He likes to keep it simple, understated. He wear no jewelry and bears no scars or tattoos. Yet. Raziel is the type of person to take his work seriously, and as such, he has separate attire when he is actively hunting down creatures. This usually consists of a plain dark tunic with a belt, and loose-fitting pants tucked into a pair of knee-high boots with an attached shin-guard. Attitude Full Personality:: To make a long story short, Raziel is something of a tightwad with anger issues. When he is not training or hunting down creatures, he spends most of his time reading about architecture and birds, playing the odd game of chess or two (often by himself). He also enjoys doodling small pictures of his favourite birds. He does not, however, let anyone see his sketchbooks as he finds them to be very personal. A loner by nature, he comes across as cold and distant to some. He is not completely unapproachable, no, but his distrusting disposition makes it hard for him to open up completely. It's not that he hates people, but a part of him is under the creeping suspicion that all actions and words have some sort of ulterior motive. A part of him is also afraid of getting close, in fear that his outbursts of anger will hurt those he loves. Ever since he was a child, he has always been quick to anger and short of fuse. Being easily goaded into fits of rage is not a facet of himself that he likes. Should he ever harm an innocent, Raziel is consumed with guilt and becomes despondent for a while. His trouble with his anger is something he struggles with regularly, but he isn't going to reach a hand out for help anytime soon. Naturally, being one of the Heaven's Gate, Raziel happens to hate anything and everything creature with a fevered passion, though not without good reason. For whatever reason, his family was attacked by one very pissed off creature, his father dying as a result. Raziel takes his job seriously, and protects as many people as he can from the preconceived threat of creatures, lest what happened to his family should ever happen to someone else. Above all else, Raziel hates losing and being second fiddle to anyone. As much as he hates to admit it, he has something of a massive ego that is too easily bruised. Not that he'd ever let it show. No, he is the type of person to lick his wounds in private, away from prying questions. Likes::

Hobbies:: Swimming, bird-watching, ornithology, and combat training. Occupation:: Heaven's Gate Notes of Interest:: His stave is a red oak short staff passed down to him from his great grandfather Ecanus, and is one of Raziel's most prized possessions. It's also the object that lets him see creatures and other paranormal phenomenon. With this in mind, his red oak stave is also geared towards combat with creatures of the werewolf variety, as it is laced with traces of silver. As such, Raziel has more experience in fighting werewolves and other animal shape-shifters than he does any other species of creature. History Full History:: Born in 1989 on the eleventh of February to Ishmael and Anahita Och, Raziel is the first of his generation to pick up the task of being a "worker" for Heaven's Gate. Well, at least the first who did so proudly. The last one to do so in the Och family was his great grandfather, Ecanus, whom passed down his stave as a heirloom to Raziel. His mother and father gave up the task long ago, longing for some semblance of normalcy. As a result, Anahita and Ishmael wanted a normal life for their only child, and tried their best to shield him from the life they and their forefathers once led. Unfortunately, this was not to be. The fates would not have a normal life for Raziel Och; they did not want it to be so. After a run-in with a particularly nasty creature that left his mother wounded and father dead, a deep seated hatred was sown inside of Raziel. There, it festered, grew in it's intensity, as he promised himself he wouldn't let this happen to anyone else. It simply was not an option. There was only one course of action he saw feasible: to join Heaven's Gate. Much to the chagrin of his mother, he did so, but mainly out of guilt. He'd be lying if he said he didn't feel responsible for his father's death. As if he was to blame for the attack, as if he could have stopped it. After Raziel made his decision, his great grandfather taught him all that he knew in terms of stave combat and fighting creatures. During his lessons, it was drilled into his mind that he was to give the creatures no quarter, no mercy. And that is one lesson he took to heart.
