Ok, seeing as the site doesn't have an official CHAR THEME SONGS THREAD yet - I'mma starting one, woooo! The rules are pretty simple:
1)Type in the name of the character with a bigger font size like this - Tane 2)Give the name of the song and it's artist if possible. 3)Insert the youtube link if it's from YT with the code like this here:
OR just give a simple link to the theme if it's not youtube 4)Post up the lyrics or the link to the lyrics here if you want to... not mandatory though, since it kinda takes up place. 5)Give us the reason why you picked it for your character.
You're not limited to "1 theme per char" but as many themes for a char as you want - like a battle theme or some such.

Tanebros:
Artists/Songs: 1)Billie Holliday - Yesterdays (Junior Boys Remix) 2)SuperSweep - The "GOD" Fist
Main Theme:
Reason: Mainly I chose it for the cool and calm jazzy feel, giving Tanebros a serious vision - a cool, icy attitude. Also it reflects the feeling of sadness and greyness that follows him everywhere he goes.
Battle Theme:
Reason: This one puts an emphasis on a quick, energetic relentless battle, which is exactly what you'll get if you face Tane. He may be calm and cool in his usual mood and may seem to be the same in battle, but inside - his blood boils, and he's not gonna show mercy.

BECAUSE IT'S PRACTICALLY IMPOSSIBLE NOT TO POST TO A THREAD LIKE THIS. Isamu Ito Artist: Trapt Song Title: Headstrong Link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=LBeg7CZqSx0Reason: His first reaction to anything he dislikes is a headstrong approach. He thinks he's always right, better than everyone else, and is very quick to say so, most of the time with words, and a good portion of it with action. Artist: Curve Song Title: Hell Above The Water Link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQ27K8vZjHwReason: It's literally impossible to find a non-mixed instrumental version of this song. :I In any case, the feel and sound of the music fits Isamu's quick and close fighting style, and ironically enough also fits him in general. Yeah, I suck at reasons. Artist: Corba Starship Song Title: My Moves Are Hot (White Hot That Is) Link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=gIRjAQGv-cEReason: He's an egotistical jerk who thinks he's all that. 'Nuff said. Artist: The Seatbelts/Yoko Kanno Song Title: Cats On Mars Link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lJ-v-Ex58wReason: Crack theme for luls because of chimera. Artist: The Seatbelts/Yoko Kanno Song Title: Forever Broke Link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=HMxUwTyz0hMReason: Something of a general theme. It fits well when he's not ranting and is more calm. Artist: The Seatbelts/Yoko Kanno Song Title: Road To The West Link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=gmFAJPArhqMReason: Depressed/down Isamu, anyone? Also works as a general theme, too! The slow tune and not as harsh and upbeat music fits well with his calmer nature and moments. Artist: The Seatbelts/Yoko Kanno Song Title: Hanashi Link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=VjmWnlc9hasReason: The slow and general tune works well for his childhood memories, which weren't all that great. Also reminds me of Silent Hill, but that's a different story. I'll stop abusing the Cowboy Bebop soundtrack now. ALSO, I SUCK AT REASONS IF THAT WASN'T BLATANTLY OBVIOUS.

TOMOKO HASHIMOTO Artist: Thomas Newman Song: GhostsReason: First, the song is called Ghosts. Tomoko is an exorcist. Ohoho. Really, though, this song sort of fits the atmosphere of an exorcist - a little scary, mostly quiet, a bit sad. It makes me think of going walking down a dark street. It's got a darker edge. It fits a more thoughtful Tomoko - she can be mature, although admittedly it's rare. Artist: Hans Zimmer Song: TimeReason: It's something Tomoko never has enough of. Also, the song changes as you listen to it - it starts out simple, but becomes this amazing beautiful thing as you listen. It grows and expands and evolves, which is something I hope Tomoko does as a character. The thing about this song - it gets bigger, and just as you think it's going to explode into sound, it suddenly shrinks back. Like it's afraid to go that extra step. IfuckinglovetheInceptionSoundtrackokArtist: Nami Tamaki Song: BelieveReason: Obligatory J-Pop song :'D It fits her energy. Artist: Perfume Song: Dream FighterReason: I just imagine her dancing to this in her room. "What are you doing?" "NOTHING. NOTHING. GO AWAY." Artist: MIKA Song: We Are YoungReason: This is basically Tomo in a nutshell. She thinks she's invincible. Artist: Annie Song: Songs Remind Me of YouReason: She would do that. She'd have a song for someone, then have a falling out with them, then have horrible feelings every time she heard it. And pretend she didn't care but secretly she can't stop thinking about them. She's a bit of an obsessive personality :'D Artist: ? Song: MushiReason: :I Shrines. Artist: ? Song: Kikyo's HeartReason: As much as I hate that this is off the Inuyasha soundtrack, it's a song that's perfect for someone with miko ancestry. :I Artist: April Smith Song: Stop WonderingReason: Tomo's got better things to do. Artist: Daft Punk Song: DerezzedReason: Fighting theme! It fits Tomo's style, which is run away. Really fast. It's a car chase song. :U Artist: Deadmau5 Song: Ghosts N' StuffReason: Another fight theme! With "ghost" in the title!

The format is SONG // ARTIST Chaos Impact (Hardstyle Techno Mix) // Artist Unknown •• Reason: Difficult to put in words, but it is suitable for battle music. Heck, I listen to it when I write replies to posts ._.
FREEDOM // HOME MADE 家族 •• "Tear up those invisible chains, give it all you've got till you're ready to break!" - Reiji hates being restricted or bound by anything.
ぬくもり // HOME MADE 家族 •• "My closed heart asks for help. Somehow, its been crying." - Reiji's pretty much closed off to everyone, resulting in his asexuality.
PRIDE // HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR •• "The sure pride in our hearts guide us, spread our wings and fly into the sky you pictured so vividly. I’ll believe forever." - As moving as this sounds, Reiji is a very prideful and stubborn person. It's a straight line to him for as long as he lives.
THE WORLD // Nightmare (Deathnote!) •• "The city that has forgotten reasoning, the present is distorted black. Dreams, turn into ideals." - As a cynic, this is his view of the world he lives in today. Trust doesn't exist in this day and age.
Brand New Day // Ryan Star •• "I've taken hits like a brawler, but I'm getting back up again" - He's stubborn, but this can be either a good or a bad thing, depends on how you look at it.
Radio Nowhere // Bruce Springsteen •• "This is radio nowhere, is there anybody alive out there?" [/blockquote] I'm not good with explanations of timbre and stuff, so I'll just cop out by sticking bits of lyrics in there… xD

Hopefully you fine folks won't mind me crashing your uber cool party! Raziel OchArtist: Ramin Djawadi Track: Vacation's Over Link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=i-uQDt7h7I0Reason: A personal themesong for him, which I thought was sorta kinda fitting. The song itself evolves, goes from one feeling to the next. The overall tone of it is bittersweet. Artist: Devotchka Track: How it Ends Link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=NSHIvUZG6e4Reason: Even years after the fact, Raziel still isn't over the death of his father. He misses him more than he lets on, and losing someone so important to him really impacted him. Artist: Hans Zimmer/Ofra Haza Track: Cry Link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=N2H6yDirDwsReason: I choose this track because of how it builds up momentum, how it gets bitter, and angry and remorseful. The song lashes out with fervor, with a certain heated energy, before it ends with a note of regret. It's essentially Raziel in a nutshell on his bad days. Artist: Jenn Grant Track: (I've Got) The Two of You Link: None found. Reason: Just a song I think sums up his childhood quite nicely, what with him being an only child and his parents the world to him. It's whimsical melody only adds to this. Artist: Mumford & Sons Track: Dust Bowl Dance Link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=QaxrANJnU2EReason: A complete misreading of the song, I know (forgive me, fellow Mumford & Sons fans!), but this song pretty much sums up Raziel's attitude toward creatures, and the blame he thrusts upon them all. Artist: Two Steps from Hell Track: Operation Sandstorm Link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNGqlNvpR7kReason: Everyone needs a fight theme. Artist: One Republic Track: Marchin' On Link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=viq87FiOSxEReason: Obligatory cheesy song. Raziel's feelings about being part of Heaven's Gate. He takes his job seriously, and vows to protect as many as he can (regardless of the fact that it's another misinterpretation of a song :'D).

"RAKSHASA" and IMOGEN
Blood Blister X-Ray Dog
Why?: When Imogen (or he himself) releases Rakshasa, this suits the fight. Mechanical, drums, bass, this is what hard and intense fighting is right here.
Dark Side A: Bondage Cake NMH OST
Why?: ...Ignore the title, it really has nothing to do with theme or relevance. Just another fight-related theme that I thought fit her.
Laura's Theme Akira Yamaoka
Why?: It's somber, which is a theme that fits the humane side of her very much. It doesn't help that she was an avid Violin player, too.
Haunted Poe
Why?: Dang, just listen to this song. That's all I gotta say, this is her in a nutshell.
Your Rain Akira Yamaoka feat. Mary Elizabeth
Why?: Lyrics, man.
Hell Frozen Rain Akira Yamaoka feat. Mary Elizabeth
Why?: ....I'm sorry, guys. I swear to god I'll stop using Silent Hill music. Again, the lyrics, but the tune really fits her too I thought. Argh, I love you Marryyyyyy.
Outland Celldweller
Why?: Creep factor does wonders for Bartghest.
Distant Future RE: Outbreak OST
Why?: Another instrumental, because I didn't have enough already.

SIMONE SYLVESTER
Answers Vigilante
Why?: Background purposes, the song and it's meaning kinda fits her mentality of wanting reasons for the cruel world she lives in, and in finding her redemption and her confusion in whether what she does is right or not.
Ghost Love Score Nightwish
Why?: Willingness to sacrifice herself, even if that person will do nothing but harm her in the end.
the cross Samael
Why?: The song in itself is challenging us to think about whether we think for ourselves - or just follow plain old tradition and what religion and sticking to it causes. It's supposed to, to me, represent her inner conflict about how she feels working for Hell's Gate at times, then about other ways to solve her inner turmoil.
Tooth Paste NMH OST
Why?: Eughhh sorry NMH again. This is a great background theme for her, though.
Battleland Xenosaga OST
Why?: Fight theme
Sad But True Resident Evil 5 OST
Why?: I feel this song playing at a stressful/intense fight, maybe one she doesn't want to fight.
KILLERS Resident Evil 5 OST
Why?: Again, a pretty intense fight theme.
Sunglasses at Night Corey Hart
Why?: HAHA get it? She wears Sunglasses.

APPLE
Artist: Joe Hisaishi Song: Howl's Moving Castle Reason: A romantic song for a romantic girl. I think pianos are sort of Apple's instrument, if that makes sense. Pianos and violins.
Artist: Florence + The Machine Song: Drumming Song Reason: Two reasons: One, I can imagine Apple dancing to this. Two, she is a serial crusher, and so she'd probably have those moments where her heart beats so loud it's a wonder nobody can hear it.
Artist: Lady Gaga Song: Boys Boys Boys Reason: She likes boys :I
Artist: PWye Oak Song: Fish Reason: "Gone, gone gone (picking up your human pieces) you were never alone. I'll come home and raise you up to what's left."
I know it's about the sea, but it's such a beautiful song about belonging.
Artist: Owl City Song: To The Sky Reason: Apple dreams of flying, and I think this song does a magnificent job of illustrating that.
Artist: Thomas Newman Song: I Forgive You Reason: This is such a beautiful, sweet instrumental piece. It's also very sad for the same reasons Apple has been - she gives all of herself to everyone, feels so strongly, loves so much, and at the very end, she would probably forgive whoever it is breaking her heart.
Artist: James Newton Howard Song: The Hand of Fate Reason: I couldn't tell you why, but it makes me think of spring.
Artist: Touch Detective OST Song: March of the Trumpets Reason: Bouncy, upbeat, a bit strange. In other words, it fits Apple to a T.
Artist: Professor Layton and The Unwound Future OST Song: Title Theme Reason: I don't really have a reason for this. It just...fits. Again, violins...

Dahlia, dahling. Terrible ThingsApril Smith and the Great Picture Show This is Dahlia's real main theme. Because she's done some quite terrible things. Atlantean TwilightKevin MacLeod This is a beautiful, simple, sweet and sad song. Kind of her secondary theme; it's her when she's more serious. Moonlight SonataBeethoven More depressing, beautiful piano music. Dahlia tends to hum this when she's torturing people. Für EliseBeethoven If she doesn't have Moonlight Sonata playing, this will be, along with other random piano etudes. This is also Dahlia when she's a bit more happy Turning TablesAdele What's this, a song with words? Yes, this is the way Dahlia treats most people now, not letting herself getting too close to them. -EDIT- Well, I've added quite a few more songs to her 'playlist'. I'm not going to add in all of the links and stuff, but I thought I might as well update the list anyways. Claire de Lune - Debussy Ruska - Apocalyptica Cohkka - Apocalyptica Death Zone - Apocalyptica Runaway Baby - Bruno Mars Johnny - Buckethead The Violet Hour - The Civil Wars C'est la Mort - The Civil Wars Clocks - Coldplay Lily's Theme - Alexandre Desplat Severus and Lily - Alexandre Desplat Song of the Storm - Emilie Simon Alica - Emilie Simon Ice girl - Emilie Simon Silent Melody - Working for a Nuclear Free City Hurricane - The Hush Sound That's Okay - The Hush Sound White Blank Page - Mumford & Sons Unfinished Business - Mumford & Sons Down By the River - Neil Young Only Love Can Break Your Heart - Neil Young One Winged Angel - Nobuo Uematsu West Wing - Alan Menken Lost Carol - Akira Yamaoka Innocent Moon - Akira Yamaoka Maternal Heart - Akira Yamaoka Dance With Night Wind - Akira Yamaoka Never Forgive Me, Never Forget Me - Akira Yamaoka

Post by Amélie Desmarais & Nuru on Jul 13, 2011 14:22:46 GMT -5
NURU & AMÉLIE Artist: Foo Fighters Track: The PretenderReason: A song that sums up Amélie's relationship with Nuru, and her reluctance to give in to it regardless of how it whispers in her mind. Artist: Thomas Newman Track: EliseReason: It has just a hint of melancholy in it, wrapped up in strange feelings of finality to it. Resolution, almost. I think it's a fitting theme for Amélie. Artist: Jessie J Track: Who You AreReason: Obligatory cheesy theme song. Amélie had put up with a lot of flack from her family for never being good enough, for not being "perfect" like her twin sister Adrienne. This sums up her feelings quite nicely. Artist: John Debney Track: The Olive GardenReason: What better theme song for Nuru than an eerie and creepy score such as this one? It slithers and slinks, much like itself. It's subtle way of getting under your skin suits Nuru so well. Artist: Two Steps from Hell Track: Mercy in DarknessReason: Another little song for Nuru, with something of an ironic title. Artist: Apocalyptica Track: DreamerReason: Because Nuru is creepy and needs these sorts of songs. It's just dark, and gritty and unrelenting, much like the shadow being itself. Pretty suiting for it, I found. Artist: Ludo Track: Safe in the DarkReason: Pretty self-explanatory! Amélie doesn't exactly feel safe in the dark, what with Nuru lurking around her all the time. On a daily basis, Amélie also has to hide the fact that she is even consorting with Nuru from those she's friends with. It's a hard task considering. Artist: Two Steps From Hell Track: Zombie TrainReason: They need a fight theme. Everyone does.
