Tanebros was sitting on a bench, surrounded by trees and bushes from the sides and from the back. Before him was a small brick path, aside the bench there was a green-coloured trash can. Tanebros wished it would be the woods, but it was the park of South City where he was right now, and actually - it wasn't that bad of a place. The park was pretty big and full of different vegetation, the gas from the cars and the city could be barely felt here. Although there was a downside - this place was largely used for playgrounds and picnics, which somewhat irritated Tanebros, but nothing in this world was perfect.
Right now Tane was enjoying the peace. A playground was not too far behind the bushes, but the sounds barely reached here and there was nobody here but him. The man looked around and leaned forwards a bit, inhaling and exhaling, making steam come out of his mouth a bit. He smirked, but reverted to his calm image shortly. He had no practice in a long time and besides making fire from the inside he had to learn how to summon fire with his hands. Not a easy task - even for a Dragon... now if he was a Phoenix...
Tane clicked his fingers, making a tiny spark appear, but it faded away after a split second. Well he had time to practise - no big deal. Good thing about these weak sparks was that his classy black suit wouldn't get harmed too... And so he continued to practise, waiting for better results. Naturally he was on the lookout for humans. Few would see the fire - only him clicking fingers, but who knew what kind of human he'd meet here.

Parks were one of the few places Isamu refused to visit unless he had a reason. Kids, especially the younger ones, seemed to find it hilarious and down right amusing to grab, yank, and try to hang from his tail like he was their harassed and abused pet dog or cat or something. He didn't make a point of caring or liking kids enough to actually give a shit about the park. It was a 'scenic view' on his way to and from work, but he much rather preferred the streets and alleys to the endless green and children. The only thing the park was good for was sports and the occasional nap and get aways, in his honest opinion.
Which was why, on this bright and sunny day, he slouched more than usual, hands digging deep into his pockets, and a rather grumpy look on his face. His pace was slow and everything about the boy screamed he didn't want to be there, but the little girl bounding along in front of him wouldn't let him get out of this. Ari, his younger sister, was an energetic nine year old, black hair partially pulled up into two identical pig-tails on either side of her head and a large grin stretched across her face. She stood at a short 3'7'' compared to Isamu. The two looked like complete opposites, the grumpy and irritated Isamu and the happy and energetic Ari.
"Hurry up, Mumu! I can see it! We're almost there!" Ari pointed at the playground, looking back at Isamu and jumping up and down where she stood.
"Yippee." His tone was flat and far from amused. "Why couldn't you come here yourself? It's only a block or two from home."
She turned around, standing in front of Isamu, putting one hand on her hip and wagging a finger at him. "You know Mom won't let me! And you weren't doing anything but sitting on your butt playing the PSP! You need to get out of the house more, Mumu. We don't spend nearly enough time together."
With a sigh, he straightened up and rubbed the back of his neck, glancing away from his sister. He had to admit that she was right. School and work pulled him away from home most of the time, which he didn't honestly mind. "Alright. Fine. Point made. Go play, and don't go to far!" While she ran off to the maze of slides and play equipment, Isamu couldn't help but let a little smile cross his face. He paused about ten feet from the edge of sea of woodchips, watching his sister climb about. He didn't pay his surroundings any amount of attention until he heard something, a snapping sound.
Isamu turned towards the source of the sound, momentarily surprised at the small sparks this guy was creating just by snapping his fingers. He narrowed his eyes at the man, tail flicking behind him. As long as the bastard didn't try to do anything to his sister, everything would be alright. Hopefully today wouldn't turn out as shitty as they had been lately.

Tanebros moved his head slightly to the right, observing the one who took interest in him. Now-now - so there was someone who could see him make flames... or at least it seemed so, since this guy looked plain pissed off. Oh, these humans. Or maybe not. Tanebros raised an eyebrow when he saw that this young human had a tail - a genuine black tail. This was quite the interesting development, and to be absolutely frank - it piqued the Black Dragon's interest. Set a spark of curiosity, so to speak.
Tanebros stopped clicking his fingers for now and sat up straight, his eyes were locked on the young... human? It did not matter, at that - be he a demon a human or a magical monkey, all that mattered was what he was going to do. Perhaps Tanebros would not see him using any of his powers today - the only sure way was to make a move himself, but Tanebros didn't feel like standing up and talking to the human first. It would be better if the guy came up himself, irritated by the constant attention... and then Tanebros would play the seemingly uninterested, bored type.
The plan was made and action had to be taken. So Tanebros started watching this human, making it fairly obvious that he took interest in him and his possible sibling as well. They did look a bit alike - Tanebros could tell.

His tail flicked once more and stopped in an arc, the fur bristling. This bastard. Isamu didn't know what had interested him so suddenly, but there were only two possible physical things within the area, and neither sat well with him. Isamu's narrowed gaze turned into a full on glare, daring this asshole to get anywhere near him or his sister. It would have been one thing if Ari wasn't around. Calling Isamu overprotective would have been an understatement. Considering the proximity of which his sister was in, he remained silent for now, glaring at the older man. Weren't the cops supposed to stop perverts like this?
Isamu clenched his fists. If the guy had minded his own business, obviously not taken an interest in Isamu and Ari, then the boy could have gone on with his day and ignored him, but no. Karma had to be a bitch yet again and even ruin this outing with his sister. His tail began whipping from side to side. For a moment, he mulled over dragging Ari back home until the park was a freak-free zone. It would save his sanity some at least. For all of three minutes until his sister started complaining and demanding things from him to make up for it.
Inwardly groaning, Isamu looked towards his sister, watching her swing on the monkey bars. Maybe ignoring the guy- and nope. The hairs on the back of his neck stood on end, and Isamu could feel the older man's gaze on him. When he got home, Isamu was making a point of checking and seeing if he could find this guy on some child molester website. The way he was looking at him and his sister, Isamu would put money down that he'd find the guy. He fidgeted, shifting on his feet, trying to ignore the man as best he good.
Unfortunately, that wasn't much. In a rather short period of time, Isamu whirled around, not caring if Ari heard him. "What the fuck is your problem!? If you want to get a rise from kids, do it at home!"
"Isamu!"
His tail was thrashing from side to side, a glare aimed at the other man, and everything about Isamu showing how pissed he was. Today- no, this entire week had just not been his week, and this bastard wasn't making things any better for him. Isamu growled. If he wanted to start something, he was in for a surprise.

Tanebros was expecting the kid to blow up, but to be perfectly honest he didn't think that the effect would be this big. The Dragon narrowed his eyes and frowned a bit. Yes - he got a reaction, but he was never the one to take insults lightly - even ones as harmless as this one. Tanebros stood up and began walking towards the pair, his steps were wide and sure - a determined, calm pace. He closed the distance and stopped not too far from the tail kid. About 2 meters or so. Tane kept a dead-serious, icy stare and that light frown he showed earlier as he began to spoke, his slightly-low voice sounded plain:
"My problem is you, little boy, and I would advise you to watch what you're saying to those people older and undoubtedly better than yourself." - Tanebros raised his hand with a swift and elegant movement. - "Back to matters of importance - and specifically that tail of yours - authentic and quite lively, as I can see." - he lowered his hand and narrowed his eyes again, looking this boy straight into the eyes with his own. - "A tail - for a human is not an ordinary thing, in fact - very extraordinary. If we can have a talk about it - please do cooperate... if you find my interest in it offensive.... well... you can try and beat me up if that is your heart's desire."
Tanbros made a step back, as if readying himself for a fight, which would be what he'd expect more. Even if the kid was holding himself back for some reason... perhaps the girl, now he would burst. Or not, which would be surprising, and certainly would be a better outcome. After all - the Dragon was no monster and didn't want to be an inconvenience to the boy's little sister. He decided to make that clear.
"If you decide to fight and before you do that - I'd advise you to think of your younger relative present here."
Damn - it sounded more like a threat, but Tanebros wasn't going to rephrase himself, since that would be not cool and would, probably, increase suspicion.

It's always a nice change of scenery to walk in a park. Even someone as stoic as Reiji must admit, it's refreshing to see trees and at least a small patch of land spared from the vast urban sprawl. This was one of the only places the teen could truly relax, he would always find some time in his schedule to casually stroll through the stretch of nature, maybe find a tree and read under it, then fall asleep until dusk. Not the most exciting of activities, but a good breather from city-life. Like always, Reiji started his day with the neighborhood 'patrolling', fighting street crime with his own form of justice and occasionally helping an old lady with her groceries. He also managed to get some cash from the thugs he beat up, of which he decided he would use to buy cake and other sweet delights from the local bakery sooner or later. Right now, he was content with tuning out the screaming children to enjoy some peace and quiet. 'So then I start wondering, what about the speed of darkness? If there is a speed of light then why not the dark? Why does no one measure the speed of that? And why does everything in this world have to be measured? … Also, Why do I get the feeling you're not listening to me Reiji?'"Because I'm not" The teen answered simply. Reiji didn't care much about the philosophical antics of his Raiju, nor did he care about the meaning of life. As such he found no reason to answer the silly questions the beast within him puts out at the most inconvenient of times. Instead of listening to the annoying moronic creature talk, Reiji subconsciously rubbed the burn scars on his arms. They didn't hurt, but the obviousness of the markings always made him feel just a tiny bit self-conscious. 'Heeey Narcissus, sorry to interrupt your self-admiring session buuuut in case you haven't noticed, there's a creepy guy and some kid with a tail arguing. Sounds like shit is going to hit the fan~'Okay, now THIS grabbed Reiji's attention. The teen immediately stopped in his tracks, turning to stare at the bickering duo. Really, it didn't seem right. Why would an older male argue with someone that looks as immature as some 13 year old brat? Why did the younger male have a tail? And Reiji could've sworn he heard something about pedophilia in the verbal exchange. Really, the world is so full of weirdoes. 'You gonna stick your nosy ass in there?'"We'll see what happens first." Reiji smirked. Despite the Raiju's sarcastic witty comment, he could tell that both of them were excited. Excited to see a fight, something that doesn't happen before their eyes on a daily basis. To both Reiji and the Raiju, this was something new, and new things are mostly good things... right? |

Isamu was confident, more so than someone in his situation probably should be. This guy was taller than him, and with the accusations Isamu had made earlier, probably knew how to handle a kid or at least worm his way out of trouble. However, the boy wasn't worried. With the chimera's powers and his own skill he was sure if it came to a brawl, as that was what it seemed like it was heading towards, that he would be the one to step out victorious. That cold gaze and serious look didn't bother him any, either, and Isamu glared at the man, his tail trashing, and every part of him ready to launch himself at the man and hit him in the face.
The fact that this man also had the ego the size of Texas and then some wasn't helping matters any, and Isamu's irritation only went up another notch. Undoubtedly better than him? Older he would agree with without a problem, but better? This guy, who looked more suited for some sort of old man park chess or some shit? Isamu wouldn't believe it.
And why was everyone and their goddamn dog interested in his tail? Unordinary, yes, and okay, he would admit it was a bit odd, but jeez! Staring at a guy and his sister like some creepy ass stalker and then insulting them was not a way to get what you wanted. Isamu growled, narrowing his eyes and hardening his glare. On top of insulting him, he was threatening his little sister?! Did this guy not know that threats and insults were the least likely way to get whatever the hell he wanted? This has officially turned out to be one of the worst days this month.
"Listen here, you goddamn son of a bitch," Isamu growled, the air around him beginning to rise in temperature. "If you have a problem with someone staring at them is only going to start shit. And insulting someone and their sister is the last thing you want to do when they can kick your ass." His ears began elongating, along with his canine teeth, little flames beginning to hover around him. "Cooperate with you? Don't make me laugh. I'd sooner bite my own arm off. You're not getting shit from me!"
Flames covering his right hand, Isamu took a step forward and leaped at the older man, aiming a punch at his face. He was sick of this guy and what managed to spew from his mouth. Talking was not getting them anywhere, and Isamu opted for the next best thing: beating the shit out of this guy until he left, got knocked out, or until all of his frustration was used up. Whichever came first.

As expected the boy reacted in a violent way. At least Tanebros could be sure in his people's skills after 500 years of studying the human race. Not that he understood most of what they did these days... So the boy jumped, without hesitation one might add. Truly - this boy was either brave or stupid. Tanebros actually thought it was both in this case. At any rate - this tail boy said something about insulting him, while Tanebros simply stated the truth, perhaps a manner which lacked subtlety, since he, himself, was irritated with the boy's attitude towards his persona.
And now Tanebros had a partial answer to his question about the tail. This guy, even though a human, could use fire through magical or as they say - supernatural means. Tane decided to end this quickly. At first he wanted to make a few sidesteps should the boy attack and try not to show any kind of ability beyond human limits, but now that the situation came to what it is - he didn't have much patience left. Good thing Tane practised swordsmanship and trained his human shape up to top levels of it's capabilities - this boy was good for his age.
The Dragon didn't change in expression when the boy jumped or when fire coated his right hand. Instead he extended his own left arm forwards, grabbing Isamu's fist with it, showing no pain - simply because he didn't feel it. Fire was his domain - a Dragon's. At the same time as grabbing the boy's hand, Tanebros made a step forward with his right leg and threw a straight punch with his right hand. Plain and simple - a quick sequence made out of 3 actions: grabbing the opponent's hand, making a step and punching.
Good thing Tanebros did not begin to enhance his human shape with inhuman strength... yet.

Nothing about fighting made Reiji jump. In fact he grew up voluntarily surrounding himself with violence, because violence is often the answer to all his problems. Any feelings of sympathy was a roadblock smashed long ago by the battering ram of emotionlessness. With such ideals in mind Reiji came to understand the need for brute force in the world today. It was simple, REHAB NEVER FUCKING WORKS- but despite all the confidence Reiji had in being unflinching towards brawls, he still managed to fall back slightly when the teen with the tail lunged. Not because the attack surprised him but because- 'HOLY SWEET JESUS IN A WHEELCHAIR THE GUY'S ON FIRE!'Yes. He should really start getting used to the dumb beast's outbursts, which were all untimely, annoying, and pretty much useless. Why would Jesus be in a wheelchair anyways? Reiji mused, picturing the messiah in a disability device- but wait, he was getting off task. Shaking his head vigorously to get rid of the thought, Reiji continued to watch a rather… one-sided fight unfolding before him. Of course he knew, just by looking, that the teen (who seemed about his age?) was not a complete human, but the other male…? Reiji wasn't sure what to classify him as. The guy caught a flaming knuckle sandwich with his bare hands! If this was TV, Reiji would've done the 'I'm impressed' whistle with a bag of chips in one hand and a remote in the other. The teen vigilante smirked, this was way too interesting to pass up. Seriously, a brawl between superhuman half-human but sorta not human people (but not really) in broad daylight? Count him in! The taller-than-average teenager chuckled lightly, something he rarely did. His lips even curved up slightly to form a smile, not of the warm and gentle loving kind but a smile that implied future ass-beating- but first… Reiji surveyed the area around him, he couldn't risk destroying the beloved park, plus, the last thing he wanted was the entire media department lurking around. "Hey, moron. I'm going to use your powers for a bit." Reiji stated matter-of-factly, really, he didn't need to inform the beast about its powers (hello, contract), but Reiji just felt the need to. 'Oh that's a SHOCKER, notify me if you want some fries with that, okay?'The raven haired teen took that witty comment as a confirmation of sorts, bending down to pick up a pebble from the ground. The small stone was black and firm, perfect. With a smirk, Reiji's eyes became enveloped in a casing of blinding white, tendrils of electricity emitting from his arms. With one swift movement, Reiji threw the stone. Judging by its trajectory, Reiji would say that if that demon tail kid didn't duck, it'd be like having a taser to the back of your head with all the electricity Reiji put in the pebble beforehand. If the demon kid DID duck however, then the other guy would have something like a taser to the face. Reiji smiled, he liked the odds. "You're disrupting the peace of this park, get out. Morons." |

Isamu was pissed. He wasn't exactly a people person, and interaction with anyone who wasn't deaf or mute usually led to some form of irritation on his part. Now was no different, though he had acted without thinking everything through. A normal human would have been startled by the flames, and his punch would have done more damage than a usual human's. Not to mention he had forgotten his younger sister was watching on with wide eyes, clinging to one of the metal playground poles. Whatever worries came forward into his mind now were pushed to the back by one question: How?
The flames, the amount of force he had put behind his attack, none of it had done anything to the man. Shocked, his irritation had begun to subside, and as a result the heat around him began to dull. How could he have been able to withstand that? No normal human- Isamu's thought process was brought to a screetching halt as a fist slammed into his face. With the lunge he had made towards the man, Isamu's feet hadn't touched ground before the attack struck him, and it sent him awkwardly to the ground.
He crouched low, glaring at the man. He couldn't be human. To take a punch like that without even flinching. There was no way he was normal. Someone who formed a contract, then? There were too many questions and too many possibilities for his liking. Growling, he was hesitent to attack again. The flames didn't do anything, and they were what he mainly relied on. Isamu could fight dirty, that wasn't a problem, but he wasn't made to take hits and a lot of his fighting was done by the element of surprise and quick manuevers. He wasn't an idiot. He didn't want to get hit the same as any other person.
For now, he kept some distance between him and the man, watching him carefully and ready to react at the slightest hint of movement. He didn't know what this guy could do, but it meant no good for him, he knew that much. A pebble whizzed over his head, heading for the man. Isamu only noticing by a few hairs on top of his head shifting around.
"What the fu-"
Isamu snapped around, not liking how the odds were panning out considering there was another kid, someone who looked close to his age, standing around. "Stay out of this," he snapped, trying to keep the older man in his vision while trying to glare at the other boy. This wasn't good. He only had a fight with the older one, and feeling cornered like this wasn't doing wonders to his mind. Fuck his life.

Swinging her legs and humming a song long lost to time, Apple walked towards the park. Well, more like sauntered, really. She was taking lazy steps, looking at everything. It was all new - an area she had not yet discovered. It must have been built recently. The last time she was here, it had been all a grassy, empty plain.
She could feel the tugging of the tree - come back, come back. The epimeliad ignored the faint push and continued on, enjoying the sun. It gave her a rush of energy, and today had been excellent so far. In fact, it was one day where Apple actually managed to dress according to the season - a rare sight, to be sure. However, her clothing was no less eclectic - a strange brown-and-navy dress, bright yellow tights, and a big pair of chunky Doc Martin boots. People gave her strange looks as she walked by, but she wsa ingnorant of the stares and continued on blissfully unawares.
No, she wouldn't go back yet. There was too much to see! Apple had almost reached the edge of her boundry, and was now walking parallel to the invisible line. Thankfully, the interesting things were all within her reach - epseically the strange swinging chairs.
Apple reached the swingset (although she had never really seen one before) and crouched down with her face an inch away from the seat, her eyes level with the blue plastic. It confused her, intrigued her. She pushed on it with a finger and giggled as it swung slightly. She gave it an almighty push, watching as it arced into the sky. She hadn't been expecting it to come back, and come back it did. It hit her in the face with a thwock! She sat down heavily, surprized.
Rubbing her nose and blinking back sudden tears, Apple stood up, brushing dirt and bark off the seat of her pants. She gave it a wary look. Well, it looked like a seat. Perhaps you sat on it? She made her way over and very carefully tried to sit down. But she could feel it wobbling and it wasn't long before she had slipped off, fallen over onto her back.
"Human contraptions!" She said, half with frustration and half in wonder. From her position, though, she could see the sky. It was quite lovely, really. How often had she just sat and stared? Not often enough.
A noise nearby made her look around. A young human was standing with a horrified look on her face. Apple followed her gaze to a gathering of three more humans, all with varying degrees of anger on their faces. Apple peered over the swing and listened to the trees, eyes flicking back to the young girl nearby.
Hot hot hot it's hot, came whispers. Apple's eyes darted back to the cluster - three males! One was on fire! But he might hurt the trees or the grass! But...Apple would stay far, far away from him. Fire was one of her biggest fears, and she could feel...what? It was a sickly feeling, rolled up and heavy in her stomach (if she had one, that is). For a moment, she marvelled at the human emotion. "Fear," she said quietly. But back to the scene at hand - something was obviously happening. She gasped as two of them - a tall one, the firey one - began exchanging blows. Fisticuffs! Apple's first instict would be to break the fight up, but the fire made her hesitiate. Instead, she slinked over to the young female human and, crouching down so that she wasn't talking down to her, asked politely, "Whatever is going on?" The trees and bushes were mostly concerned about fire, and all she was getting from them were images of the element, cries of fear. Asking the human would undoubtedly be more helpful, although her heart was bleeding for the flora of the park (or, it would if she had one).

Tanebros didn't expect that his strength and reflexes were this good. Of course - he was nearly at the top human shape physically, but it seems he underestimated the boy, seeing as he had no time to block Tane's counter-attack. This, however, proved that Tanebros was indeed on a higher place in this world... but - he was fighting a child, who was too overconfident and had no idea how to deal with the Dragon - and he actually had no idea he was facing a dragon at all, unlike those laughable suicidal knights with their spears and swords.
Tanebros watched as his fist slammed into the boy's face, making the latter fall down. Then Isamu rose up, keeping his body in a crouched position, watching Tanebros carefully, and then the Dragon heard something, and saw it - not a moment too soon. He moved his head to the left, evading the fast stone just in time. He could feel the electricity run through his hair as he barely managed to dodge in time - even for him it was a bit faster than he would want to. Tane imagined what would happen if the stone would hit his face... it would not be pretty - that was for sure. Unlike fire, Dragons are vulnerable to lightning, and it would make some damage, while not doing critical wounds. But it was fortunate for whoever threw that stone that it actually did not hit - Tanberos would not stop at changing his form then and wouldn't hold back - even if the attacker was human.
As Tanebros straightened his hair he looked in the direction where the stone came from. It was indeed an another human boy. The black-haired man spoke, a spark of irritation in his eyes and voice:
"I would not advise you to do that again, young man - nor would I advise to call me a "moron" - else I will no longer hold back towards you..." - Tane sideglanced, noticing that the tail-boy was trying to watch both him and the new guy at the same time. He also noticed someone else at the scene, near Isamu's sister. - "Now - unless you people desire to visit the nearest hospital I will ask you to settle down." - Tanebros looked at the tail-boy again. - "... beside you. As it seems you want to fight further - I won't stop you, but I should tell you this. Your fire won't work on me. So I suggest you to answer my questions... and I'll leave you be, human."
Tanebros smiled slightly, maintaining a superior image. He could take on all of these humans - even with powers, or at least so he thought. Not that he wanted the situation to escalate - but words spoken could not be taken back.
