When you get drunk four nights a week, and three of those four nights you end up blacking out, you get pretty used to waking up in strange places. Alleyways. Hotels. Stranger's houses. The street. Liam had woken up, head pounding and ears ringing, on a bed in some ratty motel room on the bad side of town. It was one of the better places he had discovered himself to be in. There didn't seem to be anyone else there, just his clothes, washed and folded underneath one of his many hats. There was also a note, saying no more than "Got you this place for the night; be out by eleven am. -Terry."
Liam had absolutely no idea who the hell Terry was.
However, it was ten-thirty, and Liam had no wish to pay for another night in this place. He got dressed, put on his hat, checked to see that he had his keys and wallet, then was out the door. Having no means of transportation other than the three dollars and eighty cents in his wallet and his own two feet, Liam walked on, heading in a general direction away from the motel. He had no clue where exactly he was, but he knew eventually he'd reach a familiar place, and if not, well, it wasn't hard to find a bar or a motel nearby.
Eventually he did reach a more familiar part of town, the one where the little seafood place he worked at was. Not wishing to be particularly near his boss on his day off, Liam walked right past it, paying no attention to the people he was surrounded by. It was a lovely day, his headache was fading, and Liam walked with a certain swagger that exuded confidence. He felt like meeting someone new, saying hello randomly, possibly getting drunk, and then not really caring about what was to happen tomorrow. Liam walked up to a person (they were rather good looking, in his opinion) and opened that lovely mouth. "Hello, there. Lovely day, isn't it? I was wondering what a fine person like yourself was doing on such a day, and if you p'raps wanted to spend it with me?" Liam's accent added an extra layer of charm to his voice, and his big green eyes twinkled playfully at the person he spoke to.
