[atrb=border,0,bTable][atrb=width,450,bTable][atrb=style,background: #222222; padding: 20px; text-align: center;] Amélie Desmarais 19 - FEMALE – 22 JANUARY- BISEXUAL "No more dreaming like a girl so love with the wrong world." Human (bound) Appearance Faceclaim:: n/a Height:: 5’5 Weight:: 150 lbs Special Features:: Nothing save for the contract mark that rests on her right shoulder blade--a simple tattoo of a shadowy figure that vaguely resembles an elongated feline. The skin around it however, has been tinted in a ghastly pallor. Full Appearance:: Amélie Desmarais is of average height and a couple pounds overweight, her figure aptly described as "curvaceous". She has a pear-shaped build, and a modest bust. Her features, on the other hands, are best described as "soft", what with her oval face, large almond shaped eyes and button nose. Amélie's hair is strawberry blonde in colour, falling around her shoulders in messy, often careless waves. It is also side-parted to the left, with the bangs often falling into her eyes, should she forget to clip it back. She does little to nothing with her hair and sometimes forgets to comb it, thus lending her a somewhat wild appearance. This is only accentuated by her bright slate gray eyes that seem to probe right into whomever she is talking to. Her insomnia, although, makes bags under her eyes an everyday occurrence. Being a scatter-brained individual, she sometimes forgets to put sunscreen on in the summer months. As such, Amélie has a bit of a tan which has left her complexion slightly freckled. Despite earlier assumptions one may make due to her hair, Amélie does, in fact, care about how she looks. Oddly enough, she is self-conscious in her dressing style, and chooses her clothing carefully. She often goes for pieces that emphasize bits of herself she likes, such as her curves. She tends to wear pale colours or monochromatic shades, never one for garish, or bright articles of clothing. On a typical day, Amélie may be seen wearing a bolero with a plain tank top, dark denim jeans and a pair of ballet flats, as an example. She has a love for jackets, anything girly, and whatever happens to come across with understated class. For formal occasions Amélie is extravagant and loves flashy, opulent dresses paired with rich jewelry. Attitude Full Personality:: On the outside, Amélie is an effervescent, amiable girl who relishes in the company of others. She seems to thrive off the energy of social situations and adepts well to new people and places, never failing to make friends. For the most part, she is generally well-liked, if thought of as a bit forgetful and absent-minded. On the inside, she is insecure, paranoid and often second-guesses herself. Because of this, she is prone to anxiety and bouts of irrational fear. To an extent, Amélie has a touch of a reclusive disposition--she doesn't share much about herself and when asked, she keeps her answers as short and vague as possible. Amélie is extremely guarded with whom she trusts fully (though this does not mean she finds trusting people hard, nor does it suggest she is opposed to doing so), she just likes having freedom in choosing the people she does trust. An outspoken individual, Amélie is not afraid to speak her mind or fight for a cause she believes in. She is rebellious by nature, and can't stand being told what to do. Thinking the status quo of society as something to be destroyed rather than nurtured and upheld, Amélie detests labels and cliques. She finds them too old fashioned, too rigid for her liking. She prefers to ignore them all together and is opinionated enough to force this view upon others. At her worst, Amélie is an ofttimes stubborn girl, thinking her way is the only way--the right way. Though she only means well and wants whats best for others, she goes about the wrong way of showing this. Amélie, for the most part, is a fair-minded person who has a flair for diplomacy and settling disputes, so she more than makes up for it. A bit of a scatter-brain, one will find her room covered in post-it notes and her arms covered in ink as constant reminders to herself. She is always forgetting one thing or another, and can't remember birthdays to save her life. Amélie has a soft spot for music and adores playing her cello, though she is only mediocre at best. She enjoys writing music just as much, and find both playing the cello, and writing music to be a catharsis to the anxiety that riddles her mind. Nuru, the creature she is bound to out of coercion, is a manipulative sort that enjoys playing off the insecurities and fears of others. It is in no way a kind soul, and uses Amélie as a host to feed off of. It often plagues her mind with comments that leave her doubting herself--a state it wishes to keep her in if only for it's own sake. The creature is a being of the shadows, hovering in the peripheral of her vision, silent and always watching. It rarely leaves her, it seems, for she always see it in the corner of her eye. And it always talks, speaks to her in that horrible voice. It whispers in her mind, sometimes. Keeps her up at night as it talks to her. She wishes it wouldn't. In it's own horribly misguided way, it does actually have some semblance of concern for Amélie. However selfish it's hold on her is, Nuru doesn't allow any harm to become of her, absolutely hates it when people wish her ill. Usually, such people wind up wounded. In short, the creature is deceptive, thinks only of itself and rarely cares for others, if at all. Nuru is uncaring at its best and cruel at its worse, uncompromising and granting no one any mercy if it feels it (or Amélie) has been wronged. Likes::

Age: Around three centuries. Even it doesn’t know, it lost count after a while. For all intents and purposes, Nuru is nothing more than an over-powered panther that has the appearance of being stretched out to the point it is almost serpentine. It’s front and hind legs have the impression of being much too short for its body, with its tail trailing behind it comically. The tail itself is almost as long as its own body. Though for the most part, as a being of shadows it is often mistaken as a long, tubular form. Upon closer inspection, it's feline qualities, however lost they may be at first, are easy to spot. It speaks with an unusually slowness, its voice having the quality of two people talking at once. Sitting on its eerily expressionless face is yellow eyes dulled and milky as if from excessive age. Nuru feeds off the fear and anxiety of others, primarily Amélie, whom it fills with unnecessary paranoia and self-doubt just for that purpose. Quiet often, it bedevils others for its amusement, relishing in their terror. Quite literally, their fear sustains it. It's movements are unnaturally jerky and disjointed, and it often comes across as inert. This can not be further from the truth. When it wants to Nuru can move very quickly, and through solid matter. It has a natural aversion to light, and doesn't take well to flashlights in particular since it finds those hard to shrink away from. A lamp or ceiling light is stationary, a flash light is not. Positive, happy thoughts are an easy way to "dispel" Nuru, as are letting go of the fear it attempts to impose upon it's victims. Spring water, as odd as it may seem, "harms" Nuru and weakens it (and it's abilities) for a time. Ability List: "Shrinking" and "Spreading": As of right now, Nuru can expand it's form to about ten feet in height and width. Likewise, it can also shrink to the small diameter of one foot, height and width. Can become vaguely tangible: However, doing so requires a lot of energy on Nuru's behalf and tuckers it out quite quickly. This "vaguely tangible" form is vaporous and very distorted, an ambiguous shadowy blob in short. Can scratch/bruise/burn others: Nuru can deal minor wounds to others, and will do so incessantly until it feels sated or vindicated. These attacks are usually preceded by an extreme sense of dread, where the victim lashes out in hostility bred of fear, satisfying Nuru twofold. History Full History:: In her family history, there are a couple individuals her mother and father refer to as the "loose screws"--those who claim to interact with mythical creatures or people long since dead, those who claim to be "exorcists". Her parents quickly lambasted them and labeled them as insane, refusing Amélie and Adrienne to ever talk to them. The apple never does fall far from the tree, and Amélie is no stranger to the paranormal. Not that she'd ever tell her family as much. She wouldn't want to be the "family loon", after all. Raised by a conservative family, Amélie was forced to fit a mold she never could. She was never good enough, and she couldn't do anything right. Especially not when she was living in the shadow of her twin sister, Adrienne. She was everything Amélie was not: thin, pretty, athletic and far too smart. Her bisexuality was just another flaw in the eyes of her parents. How could Amélie ever live up to that? How could she when everything she did was sub-par in comparison? Her parents never failed to tell her as much. But she could only live in such an environment for so long, could only take so much before she broke. It was only a matter of time before she suffered an emotional breakdown, and was eventually kicked out for her "ridiculous behaviour". For a time, she couch surfed until she found a part-time job and moved into a dingy apartment with one of her friends. For a while, Amélie was despondent and out of sorts, simply not her usually bubbly self. But all of this self-pity and anxiety---why, it was practically a feast for Nuru when it stumbled upon the girl. It had no designs for possession, not at all. Being integrated into something... fleshy was not a desire Nuru entertained. Being bound, however, was something Nuru could live with. Especially if it meant Amélie was a constant source of baseless fear and worry. It bid its time until she suffered another bout of self-doubt and anxiety. She was on the verge of a panic attacked when Nuru appeared before her and offered her an ultimatum. It promised her to take it all away, that it could make it all stop; told her that it was the one who was making her feel this way. Only by being bound to one another would Nuru "cease" it's actions. And so Amélie complied, if only to regain what semblance of sanity she had before hand. "I am that which you fear the most" was Nuru's phrase of choice for the verbal side of the Contract. The physical aspect included Amélie's shoulder blade being swallowed by a tattoo reminiscent of some stretched out cat, the skin surrounding it developed a terrible pallor.
