[atrb=border,0,bTable][atrb=width,450,bTable][atrb=style,background: #222222; padding: 20px; text-align: center;] ALICE RUTH KING 17 - FEMALE - AUGUST 12- HETEROSEXUAL "You are like a hurricane; there’s calm in your eyes." HUMAN Appearance Faceclaim:: Yoko Littner from Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann Height:: 5'7" Weight:: 141 lbs Special Features:: Possession by a phoenix has changed a few things about Alice, particularly her eyes and hair. Her eyes -which were blue at birth- are now a bright golden yellow (to be honest, they kind of creep her out). Her hair -which has always been red- gives a stronger hint at her possession, as it looks like it is on fire. Not to the degree of Disney's Hades, but more along the lines of it glows in the light. Indoors -under artificial light, that is- it’s kind of hard to see, but in the sun it’s pretty visible. Think iridescent. At night, yeah, it gives off some light. Totally inconspicuous, right? Alice’s mark (a cute little sun thing) is at the base of her neck, usually covered by her hair. Or a scarf, because those are cool bro. Full Appearance:: Alice’s hair tends to be the first thing people notice about her. It hangs down past her waist when it’s down, but Alice generally keeps it in some kind of braid or ponytail to keep it out of the way. Then there’s that whole glowing thing. Her eyebrows match, even though they aren’t quite as ‘strong’. Alice’s eyebrows are one of the few things she actually grooms, because hey, who wants to face caterpillars in the mirror? No thank you. Onto Alice’s eyes- they’re kind of wide, and rather big in general. With huge round pupils (people think she’s drunk and/or high all the time thanks to dialation). She has fairly good vision; it’s 20/20 without any glasses. Ears, nose, and mouth are unremarkable compared to some of the strange features on people. Individually, Alice’s features are actually very attractive; however, they don’t seem to quite go together when you look at them. There’s something kind of unnatural to her face, and this is why Alice doesn’t really like mirrors. Another reason why she doesn’t enjoy mirrors too much would be thanks to her man shoulders holding up those double d’s. Yes, they are real; genetics seemed determined to give what most girls would adore having to one of the only ones who thinks they get in the way. Alice doesn’t really hate her boobs- or any part of her body, really. They just get annoying. Alice works out a good bit, which has led to the development of a firm, flat tummy, a small waist, and total thunder thighs (all muscle. Seriously. She can crush a head between those babies). Alice’s wide hips help balance out her top-heavy form, and even though ‘dat ass’ is just as big a pain, Alice doesn’t mind it so much. Proportions are important, no? On to the fun stuff! Like tattoos! Oh, wait, Alice doesn’t have any. Scars, then! Well, unless you count the little sun at the base of her neck and the burn on her thumb (don’t let Alice into the kitchen), she still really doesn’t have any. Well, she must wear clothes, right? Why, yes, Alice does indeed! She likes wearing certain kinds of clothes. Jeans and cargo pants, shorts in the summer. Tank tops, t-shirts, and her trusty leather jacket (it has seven pockets). Really, Alice’s style is kind of boring. Except her pimp boots (steel-toed combat books are yes). She doesn’t really go to too much effort in her dress. She doesn’t need to. Her presence says everything her clothes would ever need to. As far as accessories and the like, Alice wears two things: her grand-pop’s ring (aw sentimentality), and a shitload of scarves (‘scuse my French). It’s just a thing. The girl loves scarves. Attitude Full Personality:: There are many words in the English language, and many of them just happen to help describe Alice. Cynical. Haughty. Violent. Bitter. A bitch (as well as some nasty nasty non-PG-13 words beginning with c’s and f’s). Alice doesn’t have much faith in anything, and she likes pissing people off more than trying to make friends Moving on to a (slightly) more positive feature, Alice is extremely competitive. She loves winning If you were to ask someone who knew Alice what her best trait was, they’d be stumped for a few moments, then probably give out a shaky “She’s… confident?” It is, in fact, the one good thing anyone can say about Alice. She doesn’t have time to be self-conscious or hate any part of her. Alice knows what works, what doesn’t. She knows when she’s right and when she’s wrong (but trying to get her to admit it might be a bit of a problem). If there’s something she doesn’t like, Alice won’t try to wonder what the person’s reaction might be; she just says it. Often it’s completely tactless and sometimes a bit hurtful, but it’s always the truth. That’s the other thing about her. Alice is genuine. Real. Awful and scary and bitchy and really, really real. Hobbies::Alice's hobbies tend to include training and fighting, skulking around looking like a hoodlum, aaaaand swearing blatantly. Occupation:: Student (junior please and thank you) Notes of Interest:: Alice's creature happens to be a phoenix named Azar. She's only three years old, and quite weak (being a newborn rocks, right?). However, Alice is able to control the abilities given to her easily enough. They include: Superheat: Alice's body runs at about 100 degrees Fahrenheit, or 37.7 degrees Celsius for you silly peeps. She can also send heat to certain parts of her body,; the hottest she's ever reached was exactly 287.69°F. The heat doesn't emit too far from her body, though. It's a mostly self-defensive thing (like if somebody grabs her unexpectedly), unless Alice feels like giving someone a little burn. Also, toss water on her. She'll steam. It's pretty funny. Flame feathers: As much as Azar is associated with fire, she is still a bird. So Alice still gets some flight-esque abilities. It's nothing much, just some small flame-y feathers that allow her to glide from tall heights. She can't really fly; it's mostly a way of landing safely from a tall place. The feathers (which look individually something like this, and all together look like this) only appear when Alice calls upon the power, and she can only hold it for maybe five minutes. Feed me, Seymore! Alice's metabolism is very high. She burns a lot of calories doing pretty much nothing, so she eats. A lot. The same kind of thing applies to her body; it's moving at a much faster pace than a normal human's body; this means she heals a teensy bit faster than a normal person, and that she fights off sickness a bit faster. It's not too noticeable, except at a long-term thing. History Full History:: Taking a look at Alice, one might think that she was born in a poor family in the projects, to an abusive father and a dead mother. Not so! In fact, Alice probably has some of the most normal and/or interesting parents around. They're both very calm people, understanding and only a little bit embarrassing. Alice's father, a Dr. Samson King, is a balding man who works in pediatrics. Alice's mother, a Mrs. Helen King, writes for one of those women's magazines on love and whatnot. They gave birth to three kids before Alice, and one after. There's Brian, James, Stella, and Maris. Growing up in a fairly noisy, large house, one might think, "Aha! That's why Alice is such a bitch! There's no love at home!" Wrong again, good sir! None of the King children feel unloved for unattended to; there's never even been a nanny in the house. So why does Alice act this way? Well, she always has. She's always been fairly hot-headed and rash; while Stella and Maris were inside playing with dolls and make-believe, Alice was outside with the boys, scuffling and scraping their knees. Alice would hang out with all the boys in her neighborhood, and a few other tomboys. Around the age of ten, Alice had one of those reputations- new kids always tended to be juuust a bit afraid of her. She was okay with that. It was exhilarating to be intimidating, a power trip. Despite all of this, there were those kids who would tease her until she snapped, just for the fun (because everyone who's attended middle school remembers this). They tended to end up with black eyes and slightly wiser mindsets. Teachers would often notice this, but no matter how many talks and notes home, Alice never seemed to be able to control her temper. Alice never really liked school. She had too much energy to stay sitting, and paying attention to notes was like torture. The only places she excelled were phys ed and recess. Alice's parents were a bit concerned at her violent tendencies, and that's when they enrolled her in karate, taekwondo, and other various martial arts classes. Alice loved it. She was able to get her energy out, and she was able to be as rough as she wanted. And then Alice hit puberty. Mother nature dropped in when she was thirteen, leaving not only the first of those awesome monthly gifts, but a pair of C-cups (you gotta start somewhere) and DAT ASS. Boys had new things to tease about, and for once, Alice had a hard time handling things in the same way. She would mostly go home and vent to her mom, who had been in the same situation not so long ago. It was also around this time that Alice found Azar. She was a small bird with very orange feathers that looked like it had fallen out of a nest. When Azar opened her beak and talked to Alice, well, let's just say she was surprised. The phoenix was weak and on its own, so it offered a deal. Form a contract, have some superpowers, and in the process, protect Azar from dying too early (because rebirth at such a young age kind of sucks). Alice, now that she was over her initial shock, agreed. She figured it would get people to stop messing with her- at least a little bit. And Azar was the last thing that she actually had a soft spot for. The contract left Alice in a sick, weak state for a full day, but afterwards, she started to feel its positive effects. The contract affected her body in noticeable ways- she grew taller than all of her siblings (except Brian), her hair would grow very fast and started that glow-y thing, and she seemed like she constantly had a fever. Alice's parents weren't angry with her for the contract; they just hoped it was a phase she was going through and not too big of a life decision. "After all, we were teenagers once, too."
