Height:: 6'1" Weight:: 160lbs Special Features:: Symmetrical burn scars on both sides stretching from shoulder to forearm, the burns form a vague tribal pattern. Full Appearance:: Reiji's looks are similar to that of your average angsty teenager. He's a bit on the tall side and manages to maintain a very lean yet toned build despite not being a 24-hour fitness guru. What really stresses Reiji's angst-meter is his raven black hair, which he refuses to cut (too much trouble, have any idea how much haircuts cost these days?) and as such, extends halfway past his neck. His bangs are also very low on maintenance, growing to touch lightly on Reiji's eyelids with the exception of a small segment between his eyes, which extend to the bridge of his nose. Reiji's facial features are plain at best, he has (chronically) half-lidded steely gray eyes and thin slanted eyebrows accompanied with a tightly drawn line that is his mouth. Despite his best efforts to look intimidating at times, Reiji always seems to look completely bored out of his mind. As if he couldn't care less, Reiji owns a dozen identical copies of each article of clothing he wears. He is only ever seen in one type of t-shirt, shirt, pants, and jacket (scarves, socks, and underwear included). Weather (hot or cold) does not effect his dress style, it's not like he's in poverty, Reiji is just stubborn that way. He's anything but a fashionista, and throughly despises those who believe clothes are 'everything', which they are not. Reiji hates materialism, and dislikes expensive objects or anything extravagant (like feather hats and diamond rings). If he were to be robbed at the side of a street, the mugger would undoubtedly walk away with almost nothing but an 'average' amount of cash (in mugger standards?). Reiji has moderately vague symmetrical burn marks on both arms that resemble a Kirituhi or a wave tattoo to symbolize the lightning beast (Raiju) chained to his body and soul. When borrowing the beast's power, Reiji's arms are enveloped in a vast and dangerous amount of electricity. He also seemingly loses his pupils, as both his eyes are then a solid glowing white. Tendrils of electricity also tend to escape his mouth when he speaks. In this form Reiji's voice turns into a raspier tone, half-machine, half-human like. Some may even compare his voice volume to that of thunder (what a Raiju's cry sounds like). Attitude Full Personality:: Reiji is a straight-arrow thinker, very one sided and stubborn. He will pick something and stick to it until the very end no matter how morally incorrect it may seem to any other human being. He will not hesitate to violently and brutally beat down anyone who disagrees with him directly. Also a cynic, he is not averse to simply cutting all ties to another person if they jeopardized his way of life. As a result, the word 'friend' is rarely ever spoken by Reiji (when it is, he is actually referring to 'comrade'). He is also- with lack of a better word- obsessed with his own idea of dealing 'justice'. He is extremely dissatisfied with the current police force and more than often decides to take street crime to his own hands, beating up thugs and gang-members alike for his own personal satisfaction. Like a classic comic book antihero, Reiji lacks all heroic attributes and only 'helps' people only when he feels like it. Though he is kind and caring in his own unique way, more than often he would go out of his way to help others albeit indirectly. Reiji's personality reflects upon his rather aloof appearance, he comes off as cold, distant, and apathetic to the hardships of others. He does not speak unless spoken to, and usually carries an inner telepathic dialogue with the beast sealed within him. Though he refers to the beast as an annoyingly loud and brash idiot. When Reiji does speak however, be prepared. Don't bother talking or even asking Reiji for advice unless you want the cold hard truths and facts (no matter how painful it may be to you). Reiji does not sugarcoat, because that is a waste of time and oxygen. Reiji does not possess a volcano of a temper, he is a very level-headed and cool individual. However, being an obstinate egoist, he will not hesitate to resort to brutal physical violence because of clashing ideals. As a result, many misinterpret him as a hot-headed delinquent and tend to avoid him as much as possible. Something that he appreciates. Despite not claiming to have any particular like or dislike, Reiji hides a penchant for sweets and usually carries quite a few small hard candies with him just in case. He cannot be bribed with money, but something different can be said about cake and other excessively sweet desserts. His sweet tooth is one of the few things he cannot control. Next to sweet things, Reiji's next favorite food is salmon sushi, but only salmon in particular because nothing else 'tastes right'. As for his preferred drink, Reiji likes traditional Japanese tea. He is not weak against alcohol and simply prefers not to drink it because it burns his throat out. One more thing, never mention sex or any romantically related matters to Reiji. Occupation:: Student Notes of Interest:: ▐ Creature → Raiju (The Lightning Beast) • • Personality The beast within Reiji is said to be very mischievous, devious, and talkative. Very different from its host but not exactly opposites per se. The beast is usually tame, very docile and simply enjoys talking through telepathy with its host. It is very different during a thunderstorm. Instinctively, a Raiju's reaction to a thunderstorm would be extreme agitation. They tend to become destructive, and nothing different can be said about the beast within Reiji, who puts much pressure on him during a thunderstorm. • • Appearance Like others of its kind, the lightning beast sealed within Reiji has no definite form, for it is a being comprised entirely of lightning. Though it tends to mold itself into some animals whilst out and about. Typically a badger, weasel, cat, fox, monkey, or even a wolf. The Raiju in question here enjoys taking the form of a blue wildcat when in control. ▐ Abilities ↓ • • Electrokinesis Reiji can manipulate electricity to a certain extent and is able to channel this energy through his arms and into a conductor (steel, metal) to be used as a weapon. He is also able to fire bolts of lightning by channeling aforementioned electricity into a pre-existing object, coming in contact with this may cause mild paralysis. Reiji is currently unable to spread the electricity further than his arms at his level of control and thus, is very vulnerable in terms of defense. • • Enhanced Reflexes and Speed When using the Lightning Beast's powers Reiji can utilize the electricity stored in his body to stimulate neural synapses, which in turn grants him almost superhuman speed and reflexes. Although human limitations do apply. Reiji cannot send as much electricity into his body in risk of frying his central nervous system. History Full History:: Having children was on the big to-do list for Reiji's parents, they wanted one child for a nice quaint family and that's exactly what they made for themselves. First came Reiji, he was brought into this world after 12 hours of labor (his mother never stopped going on about it) and, like every first-child, was the subject of his parents love and affection 24/7. Reiji grew up like any other child, his parents took extra care into teaching him about culture and manners. They sent him to school like every other set of parents would and educated him as much as they could. In all aspects, Reiji had a very privileged upbringing, so where did all of this go wrong? To put it simply, he got bored. Unlike all the other 'average' children, Reiji had the habit of being very aloof and stubborn. He disliked being bound to anything, and that included everyday routine. Everything to him was just black and white. It was just so… mundane, so boring, uninteresting, and utterly stupid. Of course he loved his parents, and appreciated that they went out of their way to bring him up. But as he grew older, so did his impatience. The everyday routine has turned his life monotone, he felt as if there was simply no more meaning to it. Everyday Reiji would wake up, have breakfast, watch the news and see the police fail yet again to prevent street crime and death, he would read the paper and find another teenager had died of overdose, then walk to school, attend it, walk back… the list went on. Everything he did one day was almost identical to what he had done in the last. He hated it. Reiji wasn't exactly the friendly type, he could not simply hang out with friends and have a little something new in his daily life, if anything he enjoyed having some alone time to simply sleep and pass the hours in a day. At the age of 16, Reiji had already lost all will to even live. He had thought of suicide, and It was on the roof of one of the taller buildings during a rainy night. Reiji snuck outdoors to jump off and simply spare himself the pain of living this life on earth than can be considered hell in his heart and mind (already numbed from his routine). It was there he met a most spectacular beast, one he had never seen before. By appearance it was a blue feral creature, like a wolf or a big cat. He was approached, or rather, they both approached each other in interest, and after carrying a rather "Why are you here?" "… I was bored." "What a coincidence, I was bored too" Under the impression that having a companion would satisfy their needs for excitement the two formed a contract. Thus sealing the beast within Reiji's body in hopes of a more stimulating lifestyle. At first getting along had been a pain. The beast was mischievous and deviously cunning while Reiji was level-headed and liked to think things through. Though both found it acceptable when Reiji, tired of the police not doing their jobs right, decided to take justice in his own hands. Reiji currently still attends school as a seemingly normal (yet angsty) teenager, he is capable of carrying long conversations with the beast sealed within him and use its powers to a certain extent. His constantly bored demeanor and cold aloof attitude remains strong and unchanged like his stubbornness however.
