[atrb=border,0,bTable][atrb=width,450,bTable][atrb=style,background: #222222; padding: 20px; text-align: center;] Mié Sharaf 2491 - Female - August 1 - Heterosexual " Modern world, I'm not pleased to meet you; You just bring me down. " Sphinx Appearance Faceclaim:: Sahrzad - Trinity Blood Height:: 5'6" Weight:: 137 lbs. Special Features:: Mié has a multitude of old scars, burns, scratches, and markings from a life of hard living and survival. They are no different from any person who has performed manual labor or has worked on a farm: they are largely normal cuts and scratches, although the sheer number of them is above average. There are two significant scars that Mié keeps hidden; a thin white scar on her throat from a shallow wound, thanks to a theif that tried to rob Mié when she was travelling; and a short jagged cut that runs down from the top of her thigh to her knee, received in a riot during the French Revolution. Full Appearance:: Standing at an average five feet six inches, Mié seems very docile at first glance. With delicate, exotic features that clearly show her African heritage, Mié has the tan skin to show for many years in the sun regardless of her naturally dark tone. She is slim, but curvy - the words "ample" and "voluptuous" could be used in earnest without sounding like a joke. The charm she uses to appear human is fading with age - her ears appear pointy, and her teeth are sharper than normal human teeth. These are easily explained away as unfortunate characteristics, as Mié's hair covers her ears and her moth is never opened up far enough to bare her teeth - unless she's being threatening. Her hair is wavy and quite dark, and her eyes are light - a striking combo along with her tan skin. Mié has an open, soft heart-shaped face, but her nose is Greecian (straight and rather pointed), showing other aspects of her ancestry. As a mix of Ethiopian, Egyptian, and Greecian myth as well as family, Mié is a blend of the Medeterranian and Africa, something she takes great pride in - although, ultimately, she is Egyptian in both name and nationality. Due to a unfortunate incident in the 19th century, Mié is nervous with low necklines. The scar on her neck is visible enough to give her a bit of a complex about it, and she wears high-necked collars and turtlenecks quite often. She has a very elegant style - suits, pinstripes, sweaters, blouses, little black dresses, pencil skirts. She is quite vain, and takes utmost pride in her appearance. She wears light makeup, usually shimmery gold eyeshadows and thick eyeliner done in the egyptian style - although not as extreme as the stereotypical cat's eye one sees in the media. She wears gold often, in bracelets and necklaces and accessories. In sphinx form, her face and breast remain unchanged, but she gains the haunches of a lioness. Nearly 5 feet tall at the shoulders, she is much larger than a regular lion. As well as her feline appearance, she also has large wings that have patterns similar to the eagle. She is a full-grown sphinx, thus her wingspan is a good twelve feet long. Also in this form, her teeth elongate and become sharp. Attitude Full Personality:: Cold, aloof, and direct, Mié is not the most amicable woman to be around. Mié is monotone and stoic, incredibly hard to fluster or suprise. Often, she will simply ignore someone that she doesn't wish to pay attention to. Mié does not suffer fools gladly. She doesn't suffer them, period. She does enjoy messing with them, however, and finds it fun to watch people squirm. Mié has always followed a rule that has kept her alive for a long time: Look out for numero uno. She comes first. Rarely will Mié ever help anyone, even if she stood to gain from it, simply because she doesn't care. Solitary and independant by nature, Mié has never needed friends nor family, although she would be the first to admit that it's a lonely life - but not to you. Mié rarely lets on to how she is feeling, and is very inscrutable. She is proud and haughty and she thinks she's better than you in every way. She might be right. She sees all humans as walking food, and treats everyone she meets like dirt at some point, although she seems to appear self-contained and polite when you first meet her. However, it becomes readily apparent that she's a cold-hearted bitch. With absolutely no issues regarding killing and eating everyone, Mié is also very violent. Under the perpetual calm is a feirce warrior and a merciless woman. Mié can hold a grudge for a thousand years, and is very vengeful. You piss her off at your own risk. Although it takes quite a lot to do so - Mié is surprisingly patient for a woman who enjoys blood so much. She's lived so long that time is really not important to her anymore - she will wait until the perfect moment to get back at someone. Mié's vast history and knowledge means that she has the biggest file of potential blackmail ever ammassed, all in her mind. J. Edgar Hoover would be green with envy. Mié won't hesitate to use it against someone. She loves freaking people out. In many cases, she's pointlessly cruel, hurting others simply because she can, no reason needed. Likes::

Hobbies:: Reading, making up and solving riddles, tranlating ancient works, puzzles, mind games, sleeping in sunbeams, blackmailing people. Occupation:: Second-Hand Bookstore Owner Notes of Interest:: Shapeshifting: Mié switches between sphinx and human with the help of a necklace, purchased from a soothsayer to help hide her appearance. It is a simple gold chain with one charm - a peice of flat, beaten gold upon which is stamped the Egyptian heiroglyph for "sphinx" on one side, and "person" or "man" on the other. However, Mié must tell exactly three riddles a day or else the charm will not work. It's the price she pays for humanity, but she's made it work since the time of the ancient Romans. Reflexes and flexibility: Even in human form, Mié still commands her cat-like traits: a flexible spine, double jointed limbs, speedy reaction time, and impressive balance, to name a few. And she always lands on her feet. A drawback is that she often behaves in very typical cat ways which clash with her cool human facade. When she gets riled up (which is admittedly rare) she tends to hiss at people. History Full History:: Mié's history spans a period of over two thousand years, therefore detailed analysis of her entire life is much too long. She's gone under many different aliases, but the one she uses currently is Mié Sharaf. The footnotes of her history are: She was "born" in 480 BC. At this time, the story of the sphinx was well situated in both Greek and Egyptian lore. Mié bounced around Egypt and surrounding African countries a bit, telling riddles and eating people. However, influx from the Roman Empire forced Mié to need a back-up plan: while Egyptians accepted her authority as a sphinx, the Romans were less likely to give her gifts of gold and more likely to kill her. Mié consulted a soothsayer for a charm that would turn her human, and worked under human guise as a palace maid under Cleopatra. For years, it was a fine set-up: Mié would amuse people with riddles by day to keep the charm working, and at night she would sneak out and kill people for fun. However, upon Cleopatra's death and annexation by the Roman empire, Mié decided that she was done with Egypt for a little while (having lived there for about 400 years already) and traveled to Rome. She enjoyed the countryside quite a lot, but the cities were gross and Rome became much less fun after the Pax Romana ended. Mié traveled most of Italy after that, visiting the major cities and having a fun time tasting Italian cuisine (read: people). By the time the Roman Empire had fallen and the Byzantine Empire was rising, Mié had moved on to Ancient Greece, staying there from about the 8th century BC to 300 AD. It was quite fun - she enjoyed Athens much more than Rome. At this time, she began getting homesick, and returned to her native Egypt in 304 AD. Around 639 AD, Egypt became an Islamic state, taken over by Muslim Arabs. For a time, Mié worked in libraries and became very religious - she liked Islam. It was much more fun than Christianity (but not as fun as the Ancient Gods of Egypt), but when the Black Death hit in the 14th century, Mié packed and left, looking for somewhere with less disease, because plague is not a good garnish. Mié became very sick after eating someone in the early stages and resolved to go abroad for her health. It was here when Mié recieved her scar on her leg - while travelling up through Italy on her way to western Europe, she was attacked and injured. Mié, of course, won the skirmish, but had a nice ugly scar to show for it. She settled in Venice for a spell, but the strict guidelines of the city bothered her and she eventually moved on. She left Italy and eventually found her way to France. When the Seven Years War rolled around in 1756, Mié got bored and took a few years to travel the world in its entirety. She visited England, India, Asia, everywhere. In 1770, Mié returned to France just in time for the French Revolution in 1789. It was here where Mié gained a scar on her neck from a shallow sword wound. Fed up with humans for a bit, Mié retreated to South America and spent some time alone. When she finally emerged, she was intrigued by this whole "America" thing and enjoyed it so much she didn't leave until the 1950's, where she returned to Egypt. She lived her days enjoying the sun, watching as her country became a republic and then was frought with issues, from the Suez Crisis to the October War, to finally the Jasmine Revolution. Of course, as she lived, she noticed a definite shift away from the supernatural. Mié began relying on her charm more and more, staying human for longer and longer periods of time. By the 19th century, she was human nearly all the time. Killing people became much more of a hassle, and Mié began relying on human food instead of humans to sustain her. She began searching for somewhere to put down roots, to perhaps live her days in comfort and a little safety (although safety is a subjective term here). She left Egypt, packed up all her things, and for months searched for a place to live. She found South Isle, started a Second-Hand Bookstore (which was really a place to put all her books, salvaged from time and Alexandria, which she had nothing to do with ok), settled down. Mié had been hunted before, but the rise of Heaven's Gate in South Isle irked her beyond belief. She made especially certain to never reveal her identity to anyone other than the already supernatural, and is trying to keep things quiet. Her attitude had definitely shifted - instead of a trigger-happy kill-'em-all lady, she just wanted to be left alone. Although she remained her same violent self, she had lived too long as a human and would really rather stay alive. Now, she really only kills people for hire. It's much more fun to watch people fret and worry, anyways. OOC OOC Alias:: Kat Attack Other Accounts:: Apple, Tomoko Hashimoto Password:: I'm not eating cookies. I'm eatin' a scone. |
